October 24, 2022 @ 2:20 pm Update Ministik Bird Sanctuary Fire- the fire is under control. As a result of Alberta Wildfire crew efforts and the change in the weather, the area ( estimated at 43 hectares) is now reduced to smouldering. The Alberta Wildfire crews have established a perimeter around the area and have left the scene. Tofield Fire will continue to monitor the situation.

October 20, 2022 @ 2:15 pm. The fire has increased to 20 hectares and is still contained. Alberta Wildfire is deploying additional resources.

October 20, 2022 @ 8:30 am Update Ministik Bird Sanctuary Fire. Despite wind gusts in the area this morning, the fire is contained. Both Tofield Fire and Strathcona fire were on scene early this morning. Alberta Wildfire Crews continue to fight the fire.

 

October 19, 2022 There is currently a fire burning in the Ministik BIrd Sanctuary on the west end of Beaver County.

The estimated size of the fire is 10 hectares. Alberta Wildfire crews are on scene and the fire is under control.
